Advanced Pool Care, serving Memphis, TN knows that pool party season is just around the corner
Once the long winter months have passed it is time to open the windows (and the swimming pool!) and kick off the summer swim season and what better way to do that than by hosting a swimming pool party! Talk with your swimming pool contractor from Advanced Pool Care to make certain you’re on the schedule for a pool opening and maintenance in time for your party.
Pool parties are ideal for both children and adults and you can even have a one-size-fits-all party that will accommodate all of your friends and family! Whether you’re planning a birthday party, graduation event, family reunion or a welcome to summer bash, you can’t go wrong with a pool party.
Your Memphis, Tennessee swimming pool contractors offer this checklist to get you started on your first pool party of the year:
- Decide when you will have the party. Give yourself, your guests and your pool contractor time to plan for the party. Why your pool contractor? You may want to schedule a cleaning prior to the party and one after the party.
- Determine who you will invite. Will it be an adult-only party, a children’s party, a specific event or a party for all ages.
- Will you decorate for the party? If you’re having a birthday or graduation, those lend themselves to a specific decor. If you’re simply having a “summer” party you may be more relaxed with decorations but should still choose a theme. Having a theme for your party offers you a great way to decorate, send fun invitations and determine the kind of food and beverages to serve. A theme may also help you determine if you’re going to plan any pool games for the guests.
- Regardless of the type of pool party you have, choose simple food and drink items. You don’t want to spend your time in the house cooking over a hot stove while your guests are outside enjoying themselves. Look for make ahead items and finger foods or appetizers to feed your guests.
- Safety needs to always be front of mind whether you’re having a party or simply spending time with your family around the swimming pool. Have additional life preservers and life jackets on hand (rafts and water wings are not safety devices!) If you have a diving board or slide and are going to have a lot of people in your pool you may need to recruit someone to be responsible for making sure that anyone who uses those are using them safely. You may also need to have an adult who is responsible for keeping track of who is in the pool — it is easy for anyone slip underwater and not be noticed until it might be too late. Safety. Safety. Safety!
