Advanced Pools contractors offer tips to plan a graduation pool party
Summer will soon be here, school will be out and if there are any graduates in the family you will want to plan a graduation pool party. The swimming pool contractors from Advanced Pools, Inc. know that when you are a swimming pool owner, you don’t need an excuse to throw a pool party, but if you have graduates, then have the party in the backyard in the pool!
Plan a graduation pool party
Looking for unique ways to get the word out about the party? Write the invitation on a beach ball and either mail or hand deliver them. Your guests can inflate them, read the details then bring them to the party. Make sure you use waterproof marker so the ink doesn’t come off in the pool.
Decorate the swimming pool and backyard area for maximum fun. Make, or buy, graduation decorations in school colors. Make a wreath from pool noodles and photos of the graduate through the years. Get potted plants or cut flowers in school colors. They can be table decorations as well as guest favors.
Pick up plastic tablecloths from a dollar store to cover the tables and to cut as streamers for decorating around the patio area. Get some floating candles to put into the pool once the sun goes down.
Plan the party menu. You can prepare some make-ahead meals that can be easily reheated the day of the party and you won’t have to miss the party fun by being in the kitchen. Hot dogs and hamburgers are always fan favorites. Grill up some food and have a burger and hot dog station full of toppings, rolls, cheeses, and more. Side dishes include potato and macaroni salads, tossed salads, cut up veggies and dip, chips, popcorn and some watermelon and other fruits. Make sure you keep foods refrigerated and covered until it’s time to eat and pack them up when you’re done. Plan to bring the foods out again later in the day for some more grazing opportunities for your guests.
Bake up some cupcakes and have a “cupcake bar” where guests can pick up a cupcake and decorate it with various frostings, sprinkles, gummy candies, chocolate chips and more.
Don’t forget to invest in some plastic drink cups so there is no chance of broken glass poolside. Inflate a small swimming pool, fill it with ice and put your beverages in there to keep them cool.
Plan games for those guests who want to play. You can have in pool games and out of the pool games. Ask us for information on fun in pool games. Invest in a croquet set, bocce balls and ring toss among others.
Don’t forget to have extra towels, flip flops and sun screen on hand for your guests who may have forgotten theirs.
A graduation swimming pool party should be fun for the graduate and everyone who attends and when you have a pool, it will be fun!
