Advanced Pools, Inc. explain pool resurfacing
When you have a swimming pool, a hot, humid summer day doesn’t seem quite so bad. If, however, your swimming pool is in need of some repairs or updates and upgrades, you can decide whether you want to work with a pool contractor from Advanced Pools, Inc. now or wait until summer is over. If you’re wondering, “should my pool be resurfaced?” they have the answers and they can also offer tips to keep your pool’s surface in great shape for many years to come.
Should my pool be resurfaced?
To prevent your pool from having to be resurfaced, your pool contractor will assure:
-
- the pool chemistry is correct. Improperly balanced pool chemicals can lead to chips, fading, staining and other pool surface issues. Testing the chemicals, keeping them properly balanced and using a pool cover can protect the surface/deck of your pool.
- Don’t neglect your pool. Leaving a small chip unattended can lead to a bigger chip or pool issue. When you ignore a small issue, it will eventually become a larger issue and that will mean it will cost you more in time and effort to have it fixed.
- Choose a pool surface you love. If you choose a pool surface simply because of ease of care or cost, but if you don’t love it, it will detract from your enjoyment of the pool. Every pool surface will have advantages and disadvantages — it’s up to you to determine whether they are distracting enough to cause you to choose a surface you aren’t in love with. Ask your pool contractor for information on the advantages and disadvantages of each type and make your decision from an informed point of view.
- Don’t do a “patch” if you don’t have to. Pool surface patches rarely last for the long term and in many cases a patch in one area will still allow water to seep in and that could mean that other areas of the pool surface will be impacted. Again, neglecting or throwing a patch on a problem can cost you more in the long run.
- A pool resurfacing won’t mean you have to miss the entire summer of swim fun. Ask us how long the project will take, how long you will be unable to use the pool and decide whether it’s worth it to wait or to give up a few days of pool use to have the project completed.
Give us a call or talk with us when we pay a service visit and ask whether there are any potential issues with the surface of your swimming pool that will need to be addressed.
