Advanced Pools, Inc. pool builders explain how to clean your pool with oxygen
Cleaning a swimming pool with chlorine is something that’s been done for decades, but it doesn’t necessarily mean that it has to remain that way, especially if you and your family want to find a way to keep the water clean by using fewer chemicals. The swimming pool contractors from Advanced Pools, Inc. in Memphis, TN explain that cleaning a swimming pool with an oxygen-based system is a possibility that some pool owners are exploring.
The benefit of cleaning a pool with oxygen is that it will keep the water clean and bacteria-free without introducing copious amounts of chlorine into the water.
How does an oxygen-based pool cleaning system work?
Ozone gas – an active form of oxygen – oxidizes waste material in the water. Oxygen cleans the water as thoroughly as can chlorine – without the use of potentially harsh chemicals. Being able to move away from using chlorine to keep the pool water clean is something that many pool owners embrace.
Oxygen cleaning systems draw in oxygen from the air, then push it through the chambers of the oxygenator system. The ozone system is fitted to the pool’s filtration system, but works by the water passing through the ozone cells, where it is ionized with an electrical current; this leads to the creation of positively-charged oxygen particles that will interact with the negatively-charged molecules and bacteria in the water. Silver and copper ions, naturally occurring parts of the process, will be released and work to kill bacteria.
After ozone has been produced it oxidizes floating bacteria and destroys it. Contaminants are introduced into your pool water in various ways — from those who use the pool and from the atmosphere and environment.
