Advanced Pools, Inc. swimming pool contractors, serving Memphis, TN explain when you should renovate your pool

Hhhmmm, the swimming pool season is slowing down for 2015 and now you’re looking at your pool and wondering, “should you renovate it?” There will come a time when you will either need to undertake pool repairs for aesthetic appeal or for safety or other necessary reasons — ie cracked tiles, faded liner, etc.

The swimming pool contractors from Advanced Pools, Inc. can walk you through the reasons why your pool might be in need of a renovation or upgrade and they could fall into the “want to do” category or the “must do” category. Here are some items to consider when you’re talking with us and trying to determine what you want to do once the season ends so that it can be complete before the 2016 swim season kicks off:Inground-Vinyl-Liner-6-300x225

  • Are the pool tiles cracked or discolored? Are they worn down and slippery? Smooth tiles are a sign of the passage of time. One of the main reasons for renovating is to address safety issues.
  • Are there cracks or stains on the pool floor or walls? Harsh weather leads to tiles cracking, another reason to cover your pool covered when it’s not in use.
  • Do you want to “downsize” your pool to reclaim more yard space? Is the pool too small? If you can’t comfortably swim laps, it might be time to extend the length or width of your pool. This is a major undertaking — either making it smaller or larger, but it might be something to consider.
  • Did you buy the house with the pool already there and now you want to put your own unique stamp on it? Add a fountain, Jacuzzi or a tanning shelf.
  • Do you want to add a hot tub or a shallow or deep end or a beach entry? Again, a big undertaking but one you might want to consider.
  • Do you want to upgrade and update your pool equipment to more energy efficient models? Now might be the time for that as well.

Talk with your pool contractor to discuss the project and gather estimates. A renovation can be a major undertaking so plan it at a time when it can be complete before the swimming season comes around. You don’t want to lose a whole season, especially if you live in an area of the country where the summers are not all that long.
