Swimming pool trends come and go but the swimming pool contractors at Advanced Pools, Inc. explain that some truly never go out of style. Whether you’re looking for an upgrade to an existing swimming pool or if you’re in the beginning stages of a pool installation project, there are some items you may want to consider for your swimming pool project to see if they fit into the backyard space you have available and whether they fit into your budget.
Here are a few items to talk with your pool builder in Memphis, Tennessee about when you’re considering a pool remodel or install:
- Beach entry: The name may bring to mind sandy shores, a beach entry doesn’t come with sand! Beach entry pool designs refer to a gradual slope of the walkway into the swimming pool – reminiscent of going into the water at the beach. A beach entry is a good feature for individuals who have a hard time entering a pool by using the steps or a ladder. If you install a handrail, the pool is more accessible for those with disabilities or for the elderly. Families who have young children also enjoy this feature as it is an easier way for the children to ease themselves into the swimming pool. Walking into the water by themselves is a less scary time for a young child.
- Saltwater pool options: Instead of a freshwater pool, saltwater has been trending and gaining in popularity. Many pool owners like salt water pools because of the “natural factor.” Salt water swimming pools mean you don’t have to add harsh chemicals. The pool is filled with fresh water and kept clean through a special salt cell system and salt is added to the water when needed. When the salt dissolves and water filters through the salt cell, the salt molecules are split into chlorine and sodium. The resultant water that is in your pool is clean, clear water that won’t discolor or dry your hair or burn your eyes. Saltwater pools may cost more up front but ongoing maintenance costs are typically less expensive.
- Rock waterfalls and grottos. If you have the space available you can have a rock waterfall added to one end of the swimming pool and then have water cascade over the top with a seating area beneath and you have a private swimming pool grotto under which to relax. Consider adding a seating area or sun shelves under a rock waterfall if you’re incorporating the grotto aspect.
Ask your swimming pool contractor what he is incorporating into other swimming pool projects he is doing and that may help spur your ideas for your own project.
